Author Visits

For nearly 15 years I have enjoyed visiting and presenting to schools (from preschool to college) as well as libraries, museums, and teacher and library conferences.

 

I tailor my multimedia presentation to suit the age of the audience.

 

My presentation includes a step by step art activity where students draw along with me.

My Presentation

I tailor my multimedia presentation to suit the age of the audience. I show creative stages of writing stories and developing art work from unexpected moments of inspiration, brainstorming and random scribbles in my notebook. I explain the teamwork between myself and editors through research, sketching and revising, that helps bring a book to life. I always have new picture books for younger readers and chapter books and graphic novels for middle grade students.
I end the presentation with a step by step art activity where the students draw along with me.

Honorarium and Expenses

I am happy to include an evening presentation in my visit for family reading nights.

Cost: $1200 per day + travel and lodging where applicable.

Cost is reduced to $1000 per day if two or more consecutive days are booked.

 

Audience: All ages (PreK- Adult)

Sessions: Three to four, 45 minute presentations per day.
