Jeff Ebbeler has been creating art for children for almost twenty years. He and his wife Eileen both attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

After college he worked for a puppet theater sculpting marionettes and performing. He also created many large scale animal puppets for the Central Park Zoo. After moving to Chicago he got his first experience of working in the children's book industry as an Art Director at Publications International ltd. for 6 years. He designed and occasionally illustrated books, as well as engineering pop-up books.

He has since become a full time freelance illustrator and has illustrated over 50 children's books. He has given many lectures and demonstrations in grade-schools, colleges, and museums about the process of bringing words to life through pictures.

Jeffrey and his family currently live in Cincinnati. He used to play drums and trumpet in several bands. Lately, he spends his free time with his twin daughters Olivia and Isabel.
